"Red Books/Llyfrau Coch in Lampeter was set up by a former philosophy student from the University of Wales, Lampeter, and at the moment provides new & second-hand books. Being in a small Univeristy town it's useful for handing textbooks and key texts down from student to student at pretty darn good prices and usually includes some of the more obscure texts that Amazon vendors would sell you at triple the price.
It's one of those bookshops that perpetually has that comforting book smell, and a place that you can almost always guarantee will have a gem or two that you may not find anywhere else.
The staff at the family-run store are always friendly and willing to talk about anything from the news of the town to philosophy, from the weather to current affairs.
If it had a tea area in the back, I don't I'd ever leave ;-)"

They also have their own on-line store where you can order on line and still support your local bookshop. Bored with Amazon? Try www.bashfordbooks.co.uk/
